The project spans approximately 145 km² (580 claims) on the Burin Peninsula, situated within the Avalonian Epithermal Belt, a geologically significant but underexplored gold-silver district.
The Eagle Zone, the project’s most advanced area, contains a historical (non-NI 43-101 compliant) inferred estimate of 76,074 oz AuEq at an average grade of 2.19 g/t AuEq, based on 1.08 million tonnes of mineralized material.
Historical drill results include bonanza-grade silver (10,516 g/t Ag over 0.15 m), gold intercepts up to 5.19 g/t AuEq over 9.95 m, and base metals such as zinc up to 7.5% and lead up to 3.05% in selected zones.
The land is connected to the northern end of the Bottom Brook property held by York Harbor, a transaction with an acquisition cost of approx. $2.5 million.
The Hare Hill granitic system is promising for rare-earth mineralization. York Harbour Metals recently reported grab rock samples with total rare earth oxide (TREO) grades between 3.45% and 21.63%. Previously, Kirrin Resources Inc. revealed drilling results in February 2011, including 4.47% TREO over 5.64m core lengths and 1.16% TREO over 15.3m core lengths on the Bottom Brook project.
The Hare Hill Pluton Rare Earth Project covers 1564 claims and 39,100 hectares in Central Newfoundland. This rapidly emerging area is known for its rare earth potential. The project is also adjacent to Falcon Gold and Marvel Discovery's Baie Verte Brompton Projects.
